A new original series co-produced by SinoVision's Chinese and English Channels, 'My Town, Chinatown' is the first of its kind to document the future of Chinatown through the lens of those reclaiming the right to shape its fate. Hear the stories, and be inspired by the minds of the young Chinese-American entrepreneurs who are choosing to carry on their family traditions, regenerate the livelihood of the community, and take back their town. The series is brought to you by Chase.
Richard Tam
Richard Tam graduated from Baruch College with a major in Accounting. He founded 10Below Ice Cream with his brother Wilson Tam and his friend David Chen on Mott Street.
The Idea of 10Below
Taking inspiration from the fresh made-to-order ice cream on the streets of Thailand, 10 Below Ice Cream is the first establishment to serve Thai-inspired ice cream rolls in New York. Three Chinatown natives, Richard Tam, Wilson Tam, and David Chen founded the store on July 2015 in the heart of historic New York Chinatown. After seeing Chinatown flourish and change, 10 Below sought to open a unique kind of ice cream parlor, blending Asian flavors and techniques with modern elements that reflect the way the neighborhood is evolving - with a renewed spirit and livelihood, while staying true to our roots.
