1.How to make X431 SmartLink C work as a Local J2534 Passthru device?

Need a USB cable to connect SmartLink C V2.0 Dongle and a PC

Make sure the PC has been installed with the OEM diagnostic software to perform the J2534 reprogramming.

The PC also needs to install with the LAUNCH's J2534 tool, which can be downloaded from www.cnlaunch.com.

Find “Smartlink J2534.zip”, and click “Download” for this option to download LAUNCH J2534 tool directly.

After downloading, you will see Launch J2534.exe and J2534 operation guide_EN.pdf.

Double-click “Launch J2534.exe” to run it, and follow the on-screen prompts to proceed until the installation is completed.

Then the J2534 reprogramming function is ready to start.

Run the diagnostic software on the PC

If the OEM software prompts you to select the target VCI (Vehicle Communication Interface) device, please choose “Launch J2534” (If no such prompt pops up, please follow the instructions on the screen to proceed directly) and then follow the onscreen instructions to proceed.

Note:

When used with the vehicle manufacturer’s programming application, the SmartLink and SmartBox device not only can work as a J2534 Pass-thru device, it also can work as a VCI device to read DTCs, clear DTCs and read live data etc.

2.How to make Smartlink C work as a Remote J2534 Passthru device?

Working with the PC installed with the OEM diagnostic software to perform the J2534 remote ECU reprogramming function. (need internet)

Make sure the following conditions are met before diagnosis.

Connect Launch SmartLink C V2.0 to the Internet which has a strong and stable network signal

Install the OEM diagnostic software on the PC

Install LAUNCH J2534 tool on the PC as well

After SmartLink C is connected to the vehicle's DLC port and the Internet, and has been switched to the super remote diagnosis mode, start to perform the remote J2534 reprogramming operation.
